Lake Keowee Adventures

Cannot say enough about how wonderfully appointed, and maintained. The website pictures don't do it justice! Boat rental is not very far from the home, and the on-site boat dock made water sports easy, and enjoyable. Definitely a place we'd love to return to and enjoy.”

The Big House

We had the best time at this lovely, big home! We had our 3 daughters, 2 husbands and a boyfriend, and 6 grandchildren. We never felt crowded and enjoyed the 2 separate living areas, as well as big outdoor spaces. We enjoyed the Long Shoals Wayside Park nearby! And visited Highlands and Cashiers. Our youngest grandson who's 3 keeps asking us, "When are we going back to the Big House?" I'm ready!”

Lake Keowee

This home is spectacular! We had 3 generations staying and everyone had so much space. The architectural detail is stunning. The large porches overlooking Lake Keowee were well used for dining, watching tv, and playing cornhole. The home was very well equipped for any kind of cooking inside or outside. We brought our boat and had the dock for our use as well as floats, kayaks and paddle boards. Rita, the owner, was always available and had good information for us in a book. We went to Cashiers, Highlands, Greenville and Clemson. It was a wonderful week in an absolutely beautiful home.”

This home is jaw dropping beautiful and the host are very helpful. Close to Clemson, Greenville, BMW race track, biking in the mountains of enjoying the lake. Spectacular! ”

This property had everything we wanted for a perfect week at the lake. The house is very comfortable with more than enough room for our extended family. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. The owners responded quickly to our texts. ”

Great Summer rustic retreat

Perfect Summer / Southern lake retreat for our family, idyllic waterfront views and a great location for outdoor activities! There are multiple state parks within a short 15 to 45 min. drive of this property, including many waterfalls (Dupont State Park) and mountain vistas (i.e., Caesarhead or Table Top). Northern Lake Keowee is absolutely beautiful (with the Jumping Rock and boat party cove very close by!) Loved the water toys. If you shop online you can also locate bargains on multiday boat rentals. The home itself was a great setup for entertaining, with multiple relaxing outdoor porches and patios & large game room. Very private overall and interesting rustic décor. Not much by way of shopping/restaurants nearby, but that is not what we came for, This property and lake is kind of a destination in and of itself. Thank you for hosting, we would love to return again sometimes, made lots of memories here! We had a very special surprise visitor on our departure morning, a small baby black bear came to visit on the back deck! Took lots of pics!”

Great Luxury Rustic Carolina Getaway

Rita and family have created a wonderful space, perfect for a rustic Carolina getaway. This property was only an hour from my residence, which made it a treat to use for both a personal retreat before the holidays, and then as space to share with visiting family. This was a beautiful mountain retreat in the winter, and I'm sure the amenities make it even sweeter in the summer. Thanks again! ”

Lake Keowee retreat

This house is amazing. Nestled in the mountains of SC on a giant lake. Very private and lots of space for entertaining. Huge kitchen and a butlers pantry. It is located in the Cliffs of Lake Keowee; a gated development but very private. There are indoor and outdoor fireplaces all over the property. Beautiful cliff like views of the lake out the back of the house. There is a private dock with kayaks and a paddleboard. There is a game room with giant TV, pool table, fireplace and bar. This is a must see destination. The ONLY drawback is it is 10 miles from the closest grocery store or restaurant. There is a small market close by but that has weird hours. Perfect summer vacation!

We loved our week at the Rustic Retreat. Lake Keowee is beautiful, clean, and exactly the right temperature. The owners quickly responded to our questions and we had no problems at all. We enjoyed the use of the paddleboards and kayaks, right in our own backyard. The house easily accommodated our 3 generations of family, and we took advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen, the outdoor dining and lounging areas, and the comfy inside spaces. We would definitely return to this wonderful vacation spot.”

Amazing Home, Generous Owners

My large group of family and close friends went to this home over the holiday week and we could not have had a more wonderful time. Truly, this home is spectacular and lives up to the name of a "Rustic Retreat". Immaculately decorated, extremely cozy and comfortable, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen is beautiful and we made many great meals that we enjoyed both indoors and outdoors on the patio. The trail/steps lead straight down to the dock directly on the river, and the owner made sure we had everything we needed to have the best time possible. The views on the lake are breathtaking, and a nearby marina can provide a boat for a relatively affordable price. Honestly, we could not have asked for a better vacation. I would definitely bring my whole family down here again. Top notch!”
