Another wonderful trip to The Palms

The Palms remains one of our very favorite places to visit. Having visited so many times over so many years, it is really impressive how consistent the property and service has been over the years. We have never encountered anything less than warm and terrific service there. It is one of the very few places we feel comfortable still traveling to in the midst of the pandemic. We honestly feel safer there than at home in the U.S. Everything is outside/open air and there are not crazy mobs of people. Our COVID test to get back to the US was super easy, as The Palms arranged a doctor to come to the villa to conduct the test and get us our results in the necessary time period. I also have a comfort level that if something went wrong, the great staff at The Palms would help us figure it out. Taking that worry off our plate let us enjoy the beach and great food, and just completely relax. It is a beautiful property and wonderful vacation experience. ”

Perfect luxurious family beach vacation!

Beautiful family vacation! We enjoyed the multiple pools and the resort was very family friendly and also great for adults as well. Enjoyed how nice the facilities were and gym and so close to everything. It made it very easy to use the provided shuttles would definitely recommend this resort. ”

Perfect Week

We had a fantastic stay at Playa Flamingo. The house was well-equipped, the staff were phenomenal, and very helpful, the weather was perfect, the beach was pristine. We loved the German bakery truck that showed up twice a week, the great drinks poolside, the sunsets were stunning. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Our son could not even believe that there was a loft bed in his room! It was a very short walk from some great beach restaurants and though we didn't use them, they had sea kayaks you could borrow and massages/dinners on the beach. There were howler monkeys in the trees just steps out side the gate and iguanas prowling the grounds - if you aren't into animals like this, don't go to Costa Rica! It was truly luxurious and relaxing and, though we often don't return to the same place more than once because we are always wanting to explore new places, this is a place I'd definitely come back to again! ”

Loved it

Gorgeous property with a beautiful beach and pool. The staff is very friendly and the concierge is very helpful and accommodating. The room was very nice especially the master suite. The second bedroom is much smaller and less luxurious. The private dining on the beach with Leo and his extremely talented wife/chef was fantastic. We did the beach side dining 3 times in 5 days.”

We had the most wonderful stay in Costa Rica at the Palms , Perfect place .We will definitely return to the property, the staff was so pleasant and helpful. It is so nice to visit a place where the food is good ,and the water is safe to drink. We felt very safe in the environment at the Palms. We have been to Costa Rica 2 other times in recent years , 3rd home Property was by far the best place we have stayed.”

One of our very favorite places

We have stayed at The Palms now three times and absolutely love it. The location is perfect -- right on the beach. There are various tours they can arrange or you can just relax on the beach, which is clean and never crowded. The beautiful infinity pool is a great place to watch the amazing sunsets, and you can stroll up the beach for fresh seafood for dinner. There are some really terrific little places to eat nearby. The accommodations are lovely and the staff could not be nicer. Unlike some beach destinations, we have found Playa Flamingo to be easy to get to, very safe, and free of concerns as to whether you can drink the water and eat fresh fruit/vegetables without undue concern about becoming ill (no problems at all on that front). In short, we cannot wait to go back. ”

Outstanding Vacation

Everything was fabulous from the moment we arrived until the second we left! Johnathan was there to welcome us and Maysil was there to serve us a refreshing drink.. Nice touch! Your home was absolutely beautiful and nicely decorated... The cleaning service did a beautiful job adding touches of fresh flowers everywhere daily! Alexandra was very helpful in planning activities for us with fabulous tour guides. The grounds and landscaping was beautiful and meticulous. Great hospitality!! Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean was really relaxing and the views of the sunsets were spectacular!!! We did a lot of fun things.. Sunset cruise... Riverboat ride.. Ziplining.. Horseback riding..went on suspension bridges.. Jumped into waterfalls.. Walked thru a volcano.. Went into the mud baths and soaked in the hot springs! We did a lot of exploring on our own and found some great restaurants.. Had a lot of laughs experiencing the dirt roads of Costa Rica!! Overall we had a wonderful fun filled but also relaxing week! Costa Rica!!!!!!

My husband and I had never traveled to Costa Rica before and The Palms at Playa Flamingo was fabulous! The condo, the pool, the beach and the service made our stay absolutely perfect! The private beautiful beach is over a kilometer long with the most beautiful white sand. We went for a swim (with stingrays) every morning. One afternoon from our lounges on the beach we watched whales frolicking for thirty minutes! The staff can arrange any kind of excursion you can think of as quick as a phone call. We went zip lining, repelling, rock climbing and white water rafting! We cruised down a river full of crocodiles and met some white faced monkeys! One of our favorite things was a private dinner on the beach with delicious food prepared by a private chef planned jut for us! The concierge, Alexandra, put us in contact with a fabulous tour company, Discover Tamarindo, and we were chauffeured everywhere we wanted to go by an adorable father and son team Christian and Chris Barrantes, who invited us to their home for a fabulous barbecue with other family and friends on our last night! Best family vacation, Costa Rica! The Palms!

Our stay at The Palms, Costa Rica was a peak into Heaven! My husband and two children, (9 yo and 7 yo), and I enjoyed each day of our week-long trip at The Palms. We booked all of our excursions through the concierge, Alexandra Arguedas, who works mainly with Discover Tamarindo. We would have a day of rest in between the excursions. We went to Arenal Volcano, swam in a waterfall, went to hot springs with different temperature pools, ATV riding, zip lines for both adults and children, saw a three-toed sloth, went to a monkey sanctuary, learned to make the noise from a Howlery Monkey, went white water rafting in single person tubes (water was low in April, but still an adventure!). Our favorite part was the Turtle Tour at night, starts at 7pm-10pm. The tour guide takes you to a beach where a mama sea turtle (90lbs-100lbs) digs a hole in the sand, with the right temperature and lays 60-80 eggs, then covers the hole and goes back into the water. Sometimes, the baby hatched turtles are seen walking to the water. The baby turtles are as big as your palm. Pretty amazing and so educational. We were blessed to have Juan Carlos as our tour guide to Arenal Volcano, zip lines, white water tubing. He taught us of the various birds and trees/plant life and left with minds richer than before we arrived! We look forward to coming back! Definitely one of our favorite places, even compared to The Reefs in Bermuda.”

A little slice of heaven

My wife and I spent an absolutely perfect week at the Palms. The staff at the property group are all wonderful people. The property itself was in impeccable condition, and we felt right at home from the beginning. We rented a car in Liberia and drove to the property. The owner provided us good directions and a nice guide before we arrived. Our flight got in a bit late, but we managed to find our way in the dark. The villa came pre-stocked with some food and drink items which were much appreciated. The food and drinks available on-site during the days and evenings are wonderful, but we also had some great experiences driving to various spots during the week. The beach in front is perfect, and the pool is perfect. We took a few side trips during the week and each was a great excursion. Zip lining was new to us and something we would definitely do again. All in all a fantastic trip and we look forward to trying to bring more of the family with us next year.”
