The staff was exceptional! The facility was a good 4star equivalent(Marriott/Hyatt), very clean & well kept. When we went March 2023, the beach was filled with seaweed/sargassum & not swimmable. The worst part was the workout facility/gym… it was awful! The elliptical & treadmill were from the ‘80s & rusted. The bench was from 1950 & dangerously set-up… if you enjoy a good gym, you will not find it here. Great place to do nothing & the location was near plenty of eateries. The mini refrigerator was nice, but no cooking capability or microwave.”

Beautiful, quiet boutique hotel in a fun little town

Alejandro and Erica took very good care of us while we stayed a week. This was a very different vacation for us as we are usually on a large resort that we never leave. The Fives Ocean Front is set in a sweet little town, Puerto Morelos. We were able to safely walk to town each day (less than a mile) and try out different restaurants and ice cream shops. We shopped a little also. The art vendors in the town square are fun. I found some beautiful earrings that are hand painted. There was music playing and most importantly, we felt safe all week. We would definitely return to this hotel. Note that there is a small kitchen but no utensils/plates, so if you plan on cooking at all, you will have to buy paper plates and plastic utensils. My suggestion to The Fives would be to provide a few utensils, plates, and glassware for each unit. Also, there is a jetted tub on the deck where others can see you; that is a bit weird but I was able to hang up a blanket over the wall next to the tub so our neighbors could not watch me in the tub; we suggest they put up privacy screens between the decks. The pools are beautiful; we especially liked the rooftop pool overlooking the ocean. The hotel is right on the beach, so you are steps from the warm waters. Later in the week a huge batch of seaweed came in, which made getting in the water undesirable for the last day we were there. They do have a company constantly cleaning the seaweed to make the beach much nicer. We would definitely return to this hotel.”

Great property, Great Service!

What an incredible property! We spent 7 nights at the Fives and had a wonderful time. The service was excellent from the pillow choices at check-in to warm smiles at genuine goodbye at check-out. There was a lot of room for improvement on the F&B side which is why I'm not giving them 5 stars, but the hotel is in a perfect location and literally 10 min walk from Puerto Morales (very cute/safe/friendly town!) and dozens of wonderful little restaurants. You couldn't ask for a more attentive staff! The room was HUGE and brand new. The location is PERFECT! Astrid (the personal concierge) was available 24 hours a day to arrange everything from dinner reservations, golf, show tickets, transportation, tours.... We have already recommended The Fives Oceanfront to several friends!”
