Proper Provence

We had a super stay in this beautiful Mas. Less than an hour from both Marseille and Nimes airports, this really is the perfect spot to explore Les Alpilles. Clearly a lot of care and love has gone into this home over the years and with 6 bedrooms, it was extremely comfortable for us all. We ate outside for every meal loving the incredible backdrop and setting. With Eygalieres on the doorstep, you do not have to travel too far if you do not want to. The village has an excellent selection of restaurants with Maison Hache being particularly good. Housekeeper, Mounia, looked after us very well and bought fresh bread and pastries each morning, although the cycle into Eygalieres to the bakery was a super way to start the day. Would highly recommend the nearby town of St. Remy and the Carrieres des Lumieres at Le Baux des Provence which hosts incredible light shows and art installations, but would thoroughly understand if you opted to stay by the pool and play a little tennis. Thank you very much for letting us stay. A truly memorable week. ”

Provencal Shangri-La

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this magnificent estate - Mas Michel. The owners have very carefully modernized while retaining all the charm of this 18th century farmhouse which sits on an expansive property including an orchard, lavender field and a gorgeous pool. Just one mile away is the picture-perfect small village of Eygalieres with shops and high quality restaurants frequented by the local populace with few tourists. Within fifteen minutes are several wineries offering tastings of the local wines. Numerous hilltop villages of Provence are within a one hour drive. Michel, the owner, was very helpful, offering recommendations for local attractions and restaurants that made our vacation all the more enjoyable. Merci beaucoup Michel!! ”

Gorgeous home!

Mas Michel is a most beautiful fully equipped home with a phenomenal, super private property, gorgeous views, interesting artwork. We traveled with a 6-month and 4-year old and the house was well equipped for them. We travelled during a very hot spell in France and it would have been nice to have had at least one room with A/C, especially for the baby. The pool was refreshing and there was ping pong, foosball, billiards...so much to do! The local town was about 5-minutes away by car and there were nice restaurants to be found and a boulangerie, pharmacie, etc. The owner was incredibly helpful and we hope to be able to stay here again in the future.”

An extraordinary farmhouse in Provence

We had an excellent stay at Mas Michel, an 18th century Provencal farmhouse, just outside Eygalieres. It has an extensive curated landscape, an almond orchard, figs, apples, etc. A full-time caretaker and a maid are dedicated to caring for the property. The house also has an interesting collection of art, acquired and/or created by the family which has curated this property over 30 years. Instructions and directions were thoughtfully provided. Eygalieres is an insiders secret, a nearly unspoiled Provencal town frequented by locals and Brits. Not an overburdened tourist haunt. But St. Remy is nearby, as are many other noteworthy destinations such as Gordes, Rouission, etc. If you want a full immersion into Provence, this is the place. Extraordinary. adh”
